The Event Collective

Before going freelance I worked for :- A wide range of companies across the financial, fashion, technology, prime real estate, design and private wealth sectors in the events industry.

The reason I went Freelance was :- because I was unfortunately let go and not furloughed. However I have always wanted to begin my own company and have been advised by clients, colleagues and friends for a long time to do so. I am now able to fulfil my full ambition without holding back or regret.

AMTEvents Anna-Marie was interviewed by the Event Collective not long before she decided to from AMTEvents - here is the full interview to get to know her a little better.

Since going Freelance I have :- Networked a lot and attended many upskilling webinars. I have also been addressing my brand and marketing, editing my up and coming website to launch AMTEvents when the time is right. I have a lot of exciting plans in production. It has been important for me to maintain my relationships and stay in touch with the industry. I also opened a group just over a month ago now to support those individuals like myself that have found themselves let go, furloughed or out of work. This group is called UK Event Professionals Redundancy due to Corona > https://www.linkedin.com/groups/13843321/ The group has been created to support individuals and share best practices and free content and we are now at a fantastic 95 members. With regular engagement, the group has become a lovely community that I am sure will be continued until long after this is all over.

I make a genuine difference to my clients business by:
Understanding their business and their needs. My clients are my partners and I care for their business. The events I create are designed to give maximum return in benefits long term. They are also emotively designed to ensure all attendees leave with a spring in their step and a smile on their face.

My key skill sets are:
Looking at the best solutions within the events sector. I work with my clients in consultation to address key issues and ensure goals are objectified in the planning process. I like to make my clients feel happy and rewarded for the effort put in and so they are blown away with the live and post event results.

I’m filling my days on lock down with:

Brand and website development, networking and meeting wonderful people online, sharing and taking part in offering great content online for the events industry, taking some time for me whether it be gardening, drawing or watching a Disney film whilst doing some adult colouring!

Post Lockdown, the thing I am most looking forward to is:
this is a hard one as...when will this be? What I know for sure is I am living in the present right now and making the most of the time we have been given to do things now!
